At SCC Nursery, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching environment for children aged 2-5 years. Our preschool operates during term time only, ensuring that your child has a consistent and structured experience as they begin their educational journey. We focus on play-based learning, encouraging children to become independent learners while also emphasising education.

New Preschool Hours (Starting September 2024)

We are excited to announce updated preschool hours to better accommodate the needs of our families:

Monday to Friday:

• Morning Session: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

• Afternoon Session: 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

• Day Session: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

• NEW! Long Session: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Please note, we will no longer offer the 9:30 am - 2:30 pm session.

Session Costs and Meal Charges

To continue offering high-quality care and meals, we are introducing a small charge for snacks and meals:

• AM Snack: £1 per session

• PM Snack: £1 per session

• Lunch (served at 12:00 pm): £4

Session Prices:

• Morning Session (9:00 am - 12:00 pm): £22

• Afternoon Session (12:00 pm - 3:00 pm): £22 (lunch is extra)

• Normal Day Session (9:00 am - 3:00 pm): £41.50 (including lunch)

• Full Day Session (8:30 am - 4:00 pm): £50 (including lunch)

Our team will be reaching out to confirm your preferred sessions or any changes you wish to make.

Key Person Role

At SCC Nursery, your child’s development is our priority. Upon starting, each child is assigned a dedicated key person who works closely with you and your child to ensure a smooth transition into pre-school life. This key person monitors and reviews your child’s progress, sharing regular updates with you. This personalised approach helps us cater to your child’s unique needs, ensuring they receive the best possible start to their educational journey.

Pre-School Activities

Our children are based in a large, bright, and airy hall, divided into various learning areas. This setup allows them to explore and investigate different activities, both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting), which are designed to help them develop to their full potential.

Our activities are thoughtfully planned according to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, incorporating the individual needs and interests of each child. We also emphasise the development of good manners, respect for others, and preparation for the next chapter in their educational journey.

Meal & Snack Times

We believe that mealtimes are important social occasions that offer valuable opportunities for children to try new flavours and develop good eating habits. At SCC Nursery, we provide:

• Mid-morning and Mid-afternoon Snacks: Offered daily at a cost of £1 per session.

• Lunch: A hot, freshly prepared meal served at 12:00 pm, available for £4.

Please discuss any dietary requirements with our settings manager to ensure your child’s needs are met.

Drinking water is available for all children throughout the day.

What You Need to Know

Drop-off and Pick-up: Please ensure timely drop-offs and pick-ups to help us maintain a smooth daily routine. Our friendly staff will be available to assist with these transitions.
